Eve Eichwald joins Catherine Cundy & Associates after being highly recommended by numerous California State University Chico instructors and her clinical director.
We are happy to have her join our team as she brings a diversity of experience in case management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Trauma Informed and strength-based approaches.
Eve’s heart is for those who are experiencing grief, life-long relational struggles, and trauma. In addition, Eve desires to walk along-side those who have struggled to live safely in communities and families where social, cultural and sexual diversity is often threatened. Eve completed her initial hours toward licensure at Hill County Clinic and Shasta Regional Inpatient unit where she gained first had training working with severe mental health issues and the under privileged.
Most importantly and consistent with research, Eve strives to provide a good fit and comfortable rapport with her clients and knows that all therapy must start with a strong working alliance before deeper issues can be explored. Finding the right fit is one of the most important aspect of positive psychotherapy outcomes. Her guidepost is to meet a client where they are at and provide an emotionally safe environment.
Eve is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which combines mindfulness techniques, examination of automatic thoughts and entrenched behavioral patterns, with a strong emphasis on self-care. She is also skilled in working with identity and self-esteem issues among the pre-teen, teen, adult, and older adult population. At the onset of therapy, Eve will assist her clients in establishing therapy goals and regularly ask for feedback regarding how the clients therapy process is progressing.
In addition to her social work training, Eve offers her clients her wealth of diverse life experience. Psychotherapy and social work are her second career. Eve was raised in Redding and has returned after a successful public policy and civil servant finance career in San Francisco and Massachusetts.
After Graduating with her BA from UC Davis she was an Adjunct lecturer and went on to complete a MS degree in Community and Regional Planning at the University of Oregon and did a Fellowship is Public Policy at the Center for California Studies at CSU Sacramento.
Now, Eve has decided to incorporate all that she has gained through her experience in public and community policy to serve others in a one-on-one role rather as a helping professional, social worker and psychotherapist.
