I come from a background of working with high need individuals and developing programs with an emphasis on social justice and empowerment in the treatment of mental health issues. I bring this experience and perspective into my clinical practice.
My approach is strength based ‘technical eclecticism’, tailoring interventions to the needs and preferences of each client. Therapeutic interventions take on a whole person approach and emphasize the importance of ‘person in environment’. An individual is required to navigate the overlapping systems (career, family, interpersonal relationships, community etc.) that occur in the environment. At times, a variety of stressors can compromise an individual’s healthy functioning within these symptoms and exacerbate mental health symptoms. I come alongside clients to help them develop coping skills, identify the etiology of their symptoms, or process trauma. I focus on creating a safe environment that engenders trust and a strong therapeutic relationship. The quality of this relationship is the foundation of healing for the client.
I have experience working with clients of all ages, who may have experienced trauma, struggle with anxiety/depression or are dealing with a situational or maturational crisis. Reaching out is the first step in healing and meaningful change. I am honored to accompany you on this journey.
